Double Chin Fat Slimming

Perhaps simply due to the passage of time, or additional weight, or plain genetics, or some combination of the preceding, the chin area enlarges or “doubles” and presents an appearance problem.  As an alternative to liposuction, non-surgical injections of a fat dissolving substance may be used to reduce the amount of submental fat to improve the appearance of a double chin.

Who is the treatment for?

This treatment is ideally suited for those with small amounts of submental fat and no significant skin laxity. A consultation with Katrina will be required to determine if the treatment is right for you.

How many treatments are required?

The injections are a quick 30-minute procedure.  The number of sessions required varies depending on the patient. Two sessions is the usual minimum required; the average number of sessions is between three and four.  Sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart.

How does it feel?

The client will feel a slight pinch with some discomfort during the injection process.  Ice packs and a topical anaesthetic are used to numb the area prior to the injection.

Is it safe?

Yes, this a safe non-surgical procedure.

Is there downtime?

It is normal for clients to experience redness, tenderness and swelling. In most cases, these symptoms subside within 48 hours.  Bruising is also a common side effect that may take up to two weeks to resolve.

When will I see a result?

The effects of the fat dissolving injections are visible after each session.  The result of the injection sessions is considered permanent; there is generally no need for subsequent top-ups.
