Platelet-Rich Plasma
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is performed as an addition to a Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT, or needling) session. PRP therapy is added to reduce the recovery time and enhance the result.
At the start of the procedure, a medical professional draws a small quantity of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma from the red blood cells. Platelets are special blood cells that are essential in forming clots to stop bleeding. They also contain proteins that promote healing by reducing inflammation, supporting the immune system and stimulating cell growth.
PRP therapy is the process of injecting or topically applying a concentrated solution of your platelets and plasma.
